Dear ACURIL Members:
The Nominations Committee for ACURIL’s Executive Council 2010-2013, constituted by Mrs. Ardis Hanson, Vice-President/President Elect, Chair;  and Executive Council members Prof. Pedro Padilla-Rosa  and Béa Bazile, present hereby the Nominations Committee Report to all ACURIL members.

Kindly note:
Section 3. It shall be the duty of the Nominating committee to select a full slate of nominees for the Council. No person, other than the representative of the personal members, having served as an officer or Councilor for a full term in any category may be nominated for another term in less than three years. The representative of the personal members, having served a one year term, may be nominated immediately for re-election for one more term only in the same capacity. At the end of either term, or at any time thereafter, that councilor, if eligible under Article II.
From another standpoint, as indicated in Section 4 of the Bylaws,
In nominating members to fill these positions, the Nominating Committee will bear in mind the desirability of having all language groups represented to Council… Additional nominations may be made from the floor [at the General Assembly] within the limitations of the above regulations.
Presentation of nominees will be made at the first General Assembly in Santo Domingo, República Dominicana

REPORT OF THE NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE FOR ACURIL’S EXECUTIVE COUNCIL 2010-2013

To all ACURIL Members.
During the XL ACURIL Conference, to be held in Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, June 6-12, 2010, there will be various vacancies in the Executive Council, as follows.
·       Four (4) vacancies from 2010-2013 period: Two (2) Institutional Members,
and Two (2) Association Members
·       One (1) vacancy corresponding to the Personal Member category, from 2010-2011.
 
Institutional Members:  Two vacancies                
Nominees for Institutional Members 2010-2013 period are:
National Library of Aruba, represented by Astrid Britten, Library Director.  Chair of the Public and National Libraries SIG; Past President of ACURIL
Bibliothèque Multimedia de Moule, represented by Danielle Renier Deglas, Library Director; Past Local Organizing Coordinator  of ACURIL 2009 Conference; Member of ACURIL Web Team

 Association Member for 2010-2013 period:  Two vacancies
Nominees for Association Members for 2010-2013 period are:  
·Sociedad de Bibliotecarios de Escuelas Privadas de Puerto Rico (Librarians Society of Private Schools in Puerto Rico), represented by Cindy Jimenez-Vera, Baldwin School Librarian.  She chairs ACURIL’s School Libraries SIG and is a Member of the ACURIL Web Team.
·Vacant. Open to nominations from the floor.
 
Personal member for 2009-2010 period:  One (1) vacancy
Nominee for Personal member 2010-2011
Luis José Medrano.  Works with FUNGLODE and the National Library of the Dominican Republic.  Serves as liaison in the ACURIL Solidarity with Haiti Campaign with IFLA and International Council of Archives.
